Our parents play a vital role in our school. Our parent-run Docent program exposes students to the world of art, covering diverse topics ranging from the old masters to impressionist painters to modern artists. The What's It Like Program teaches students that we are all alike despite differences that we might have in appearance or behavior. Parents assist in: the classroom, Media Center, Art Room, and Computer Lab on a very regular basis. The home-school partnership is important for success.
Since our opening in 1964, we have grown from a school of about 250 with no buses to a school that has housed over 500 students. In 1994, an addition was built on the school which added 12 new classrooms, a new gym, Art Room, Media Center, and kitchen. Thanks to the cooperative efforts of the Town, Walpole Public Schools, Walpole Technology and Innovation Foundation, and the OPR parent body working together, we have state-of-the-art technology in place in all rooms.
Our school hours for the 2013-2014 School Year will be 8:45 AM-3:15 PM.
