Class Descriptions

MeeperBot Class

Teacher: Mrs. Cowan

Day:  Mondays (April 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, June 5)

Limit 6 students in grades 2-3

Students will build up their motorized MeeperBOTs with LEGOs and then use an app to control their creations.  Each week we will come up with a new challenge.

Shopkins Club

Teacher: Mrs. Hughes

Day: Tuesdays (April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)

Limit 10 students in grades 2-5

Materials fee: $10.00 to be paid to the teacher on the first day of class

 

Session Three of Shopkins Club will have all NEW crafts and treats! Many of our projects will be inspired by Shopkins Chef Club. (Can you tell me what’s cooking?) Please note any food allergies during registration. Treats will be made in class and brought home to enjoy.

 

Breakout EDU

Teacher: Ms. Engasser

Day: Tuesdays (April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)

Limit 15  students in grades 3-5


Have you heard of Escape the Room: Solving puzzles and clues to “escape” a locked room.  Well, welcome to Breakout EDU where we’ll use games, and players will work collaboratively to solve a series of critical thinking puzzles in order to open a locked box.  We’ll use online games as well.  Put your detective skills to the test and unlock codes to “breakout”.


Jump Rope Club

Teacher: Mrs. Green

Day: Tuesdays (April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30)

Grades K-5

 

Do you enjoy jumping rope?  Want to improve on your jump rope skills?  Come join us for some jumping FUN! We will practice tricks with individual ropes.  We will also practice with long ropes and double-dutch ropes. Some favorites, "Helicopter", "The Wave" and of course "Jump-offs" will be part of this fun afternoon as well.  Encourage your friends to join in on the Fun and improve on your jump rope skills.


American Girl Doll Scrapbooking

Teacher: Mrs. Hughes

Day: Wednesdays (April 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31)

Limit 10 students in grades 2-5

Materials fee: $10. To be paid to the teacher on the first day of class

 

In this class, you will create a mini American Girl memory book, featuring you! Students will need to bring 5-10 photos of themselves with friends, family or doing activities and sports they love. You will also make a doll sized scrapbook showing your doll’s life story. We will also craft a ribbon corkboard to display your doll’s favorite pictures and souvenirs.

 

Digital Natives

Teacher: Ms. Engasser

Day: Wednesdays (April 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31)

Limit 15 students in grades 3-5

 

Is Technology your "native" language?  Do you love creating digitally, telling stories with comics, writing book reviews and wondering and have a natural curiosity and imagination that leads you to explore?  In Digital Natives we will use technology and websites to engage, explore, learn and create.  We will navigate through websites such as Wonderopolis, Make Belief Comix, Bookopolis and so much more. Come join and communicate in your digital "native" language.  

Lego League

Teacher:  Mrs. Rice

Day:  Thursdays (April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1)

Limit:  15

Grades: 1-2

 

Come construct great and imaginative creations using Legos!  We'll build lots of neat things.  If you have a great imagination, then you'll love Lego League.  



LittleBits Invention Challenges

Teacher: Mrs. Cowan

Days: Thursdays (April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1)

Limit 10 students in grades 3-5

 

Come learn, create and explore with electronic building blocks.  Learn to build a circuit car, create a launcher and draw with a doodle wizard.



Creative Cupcakes

Teacher: Mrs. Hughes

Days: Thursdays (April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1)

  OR  Fridays (April 28, May 5, 12, 26, June 2, 9)

Limit 12 students in grades 2-5

Materials fee: $10.00 to be paid to the teacher on the first day of class

 

In this spring session of Creative Cupcakes, we will decorate cupcakes to look like many animals such as puppies, polar bears, and pandas! Please note any food allergies during registration. Cupcakes will be decorated in class and brought home to enjoy.
